when you do you think a headache or migraine is severe enough to go to the emergency room?

I’m at work and I started to get a headache which I’m prone to, but it’s turning into a bad migraine and it’s to the point where there’s a spot on my scalp that’s sensitive to touch. And no.. I have not fallen or hit my head. Do you think I should just lay down and continue to see what happens or should I go to the emergency room?
